MIR TAQI MIR by Ish Kumar (Sahitya Academy publication) |
Let there be spontaneous overflow of feelings. Let there be sincerety and intensity.
From potentiality to actuality.
Jigar khun ho to chasm-I-dil mein hoti hai nazar paida (analytical thought)
Iqbal.
It burns, but it does not brighten. It is all naar (fire) and no nur (light)
I am guilty of loving you
Arent you also guilty of being so lovely. MIR
If nothing exists in the world but You;
What then is all this fuss about - O God. GHALIB (transitoriness of life)
Satire is the artistic refinement of the instinct to laugh at what we hate. It consists of both rebuke and ridicule. It has both the honey and the sting of the bee and the art of the satirist is to keep proper proportion between them.
Levity, luxury and lassitude.
GHALIB:
Ya Rab zamanah mujh ko mitata hai kis liye
Kya loh-i-jahan peh harf-e-mukkarar nahin hu mein.
MIR:
I asked how long the flower will last
Hearing this, the bud just smiled in reply.

QUOTES |
There are two ways to study the butterflies. Chase them with nets and then inspect their dead bodies, or sit quietly in the garden and watch them dance among flowers. Nongunch Basshan
Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

Misrilal Jaiswal : POEM |
Ek chor ne
mandir se
Sitaji ke ghene churae
Usne unhe
Apni patni ko pehanye
Sitaji ke ghene ne
Apna prabhav dikhlaya
Padosan ke ravan ne
Uski patni ko le udaya.
Kabbadi Champion
Nav vivahit naveli ne
Padosan se
man ki vyatha bataee
sakhi!
mein ek kabbadi champion se
vivah kar ke pastaee
veh hoo hoo kar ke
mere pas ate hein
mujhe choo kar
bhag jate hein
sarapa arzoo hone ne
banda kar diya hamko
varna ham khuda the
gar dil e be-mudda hote (heart without any longings)
falak ay kash! Hamko khak hi
rakhta, ki usme hum
gubbare rah hote ya kis ki khak
e pa hote
ba range boo e gul is baag ke
ham asman hote
ki ham rahe saba tak shor karte
aur hava hote.
